The Geyserland Mini 2025 #

17-18 May 2025, starting at 8:00 am

The Geyserland Mini is a great introduction to our events. Riders meet at the northern side of the Rotorua Museum, and ride around the Rotorua Lakes on a combination of sealed and gravel roads and singletrack, before heading down Maniatutu Road to camp at Redwood Valley Farm. The next day, riders head up the Kaikokopu Trail and back to Rotorua.

There are two options on each day: the hard option is for the more experienced/fit/crazy riders who want a challenge, while the regular option is for those just wanting to get out there and ride.

Note that on day 1 the hard option takes riders along the Western Okataina Trail. This is a challenging trail with over 600 metres of climbing, many ruts, and fallen trees to clamber over. If you’re comfortable riding grade 3 mountain bike trails and have a relatively light bike, you’ll be fine on the Western Okataina, but if not then you might want to consider doing the regular option instead. One year we had a few riders finish after dark because they had to walk so much of the Okataina trail.
