The Geyserland Family #
This child-friendly overnighter is designed for riders of all abilities. The route takes you from Rotorua out to the DoC campground at Lake Okareka, and back again, taking in a short loop in Whakarewarewa Forest. It’s designed for kids of all ages: the young’ns can be dropped off closer to the campground so you can just do a few kilometres if that’s all their little legs can do, or you can extend the ride with a “hard” option on the first day to include a bigger loop through the forest before heading down to Lake Okareka.
Note that the Geyserland Family was run as part of the Rotorua Bike Festival. Because the Rotorua Bike Festival is not being held in 2024, there is no Geyserland Family ride this year.

Since this is designed for children there’s no “hard” option on day 2.
