Kakaho Campsite #

Kakaho Campsite is a basic DoC campsite near Tihoi. It makes a good stopover on a ride through Pureora Forest on Link Road. There aren’t many facilities, just basic toilets and campfire sites. Water is available from the stream, though it should be filtered or treated before drinking.

Standard DoC camping fees ($10/night) apply, and you can pay and book on the DoC website.

Note that if you’re coming in from SH 32, the first signposted entrance is tiny and has limited facilities. Keep going for another 100 metres to the main campsite entrance.
